Probably the most interesting from the Yesteryear collectors view. Nearly all the Yesteryears have the same variations as their painted counterparts. Some models were one-offs, issued as gifts to visitors or as prizes at Lesney dances etc. A good example of this is the Y3 Benz and Y4 Shand Mason fire engine, plated in gold and 4 only, issued as spot prizes at a dance. I once owned one of these and not collecting the giftware items back then, sold it on, much to my huge regret to this day. It is getting harder to find these items mint & boxed nowadays but many are found still at car boot sales or similar, unboxed or loose at fairly good prices.

Many models that look grubby can be given a new lease of life with a wash in warm, mild soapy water and cleaned with an old, used soft toothbrush. Give them a thorough drying as much as possible and then place somewhere warm to completely dry off, an airing cupboard is ideal - a word of warning - the coating is extremely thin and severe rubbing or polishing with a normal household polish will wear through it, so be careful.

I have shown the boxes, trays and penstands that they came on as an extra but minus the model. The main reason being that I don't have the space to display as one item due to their size. I have removed the model for display purposes in a cabinet and labelled which giftware item it came from. Suffice to say that each model came on a range of different items.
